Divine Lorraine: The Daily
Philadelphia, Pennsylvania
Branding Concept
The Underground Concepts restaurant group looked to Benita Cooper Design to create a cafe in the Divine Lorraine Hotel - one of Philadelphia's most revered historical landmarks. To contrast with the massive historical beams and heavy brick walls, BCD envisioned a cafe that is a celebration of light and air. Coop Forge Mobile executed the vision with a minimalist palette of white metals and stained oak. These materials dance across a built-in bench, barista area, milk station, a shallow nook with a floating bike, and a folded ceiling. The result is a tribute to the past, with a comforting, ethereal, and joyful twist.
